Kenneth Ernest Bedford married Christina Margaret Harrold and they had 3 sons in the 1950s (and Harrold is given as the mother). I have a record of one set of Banns 26 Dec 1948 in Coates, Cambs which says Christina was of Keiss, Wick, Caithness. I assume they married in 1949-1950 but I cannot find a record to support this.

I was stupidly looking with England instead of All Collections but now I've corrected that nothing pops up.

    They married in Scotland. :)

The marriage took place Keiss registration district in 1949 Ref: 037/B 1

ScotlandsPeople has the marriage and the certificate can be ordered from them :)

I cannot find a marriage record for them on Scotlands People website, nor anywhere else for that matter, although a search for Christina Margaret HARROLD between 1924 & 1928 brings up one birth record. I haven't any credits, so cannot look at it I'm afraid. I cannot find her in the 1939 Register of England & Wales, so she is most probably still in Scotland. The earliest I can find a record of her in England is the 1955 Electoral Register where she is living with her husband Kenneth E BEDFORD at 23 South Green, Coates. Sorry not to be of more help. Edit - Well found Jan - how did I miss that one!!

BTW, before posting on here I clicked Scotland on Ancestry in my searches but it didn't come up. Any idea why? Not currently subscribed to FMP.

Not all of the records for Scotland are on Ancestry. I think the old Parish Records might be but not the recent (20th century) civil registrations.

Just a thought but needs checking.
