My F-I-Law's middle name was Eccles - and I don't think he ever listened to the Goons. His loss of course, but just saying.............

One of the group I went around with in my single days was nicknamed Eccles, he was always doing something odd. Like the time at a Youth Centre social in Chelmsford and a group of us in the Palais Glide dance, he went forward as everyone else went back, got his foot trod on and reckoned everyone else was out of step.

I too am a 'fan' of the Goons - but only when my wife and daughter aren't here - but that's there misfortune.

I've just found a DVD of all episodes of the Telegoons and I'm about to buy it for my OH's birthday. I had no idea the recordings were still around and I'm certainly not going to miss out on that. Will be nice if Bill enjoys it as much as I will

Forgot to mention that somewhere I have some Goon Shows my son compiled for me, he collected the recordings off the net somewhere. Haven't played it in a while, I'll have to find it and have a listen, daren't play it in the car though, seeing me laughing like an idiot people will think I'm barmy.

Avatar? No, thought I'd try this out and see how I felt about it after a few days. I'm not quite sure, so don't get your hope up yet, I'm sure there are plenty more where that came from.

Luckily Bill and I have very similar tastes and he's always been the hardest of people to buy for as he never, ever wants anything. Seemed to be the simplest solution to me - and I've always been a caring sharing type of person!!
