    Need help with this fellow.
I thought that with his name he will be an easy fellow to find.
Orlando was baptised 28 Dec 1870 at Wood Bridge Lezant and is the son of William Venner and Emma Jane Steed.
1871 at New Bridge .Lezant with parents and siblings.
1881 at Wotton, Landrake with St Erney, St Germans, Cornwall a farm servant indoors.
    After that he disappears.
I shall be going through his siblings at some point but want to do them one at a time.

    VENNER, ORLANDO CHARLES MMN STEED
GRO Reference: 1866 J Quarter in LAUNCESTON Volume 05C Page 35

His WW1 service record is on Ancestry, but he using the name Charles Venner. He joined the Royal Artillery in 1887. It's definitely him as his age, the parents names given and occupation fit. His brothers and sisters are mentioned too William, Albert, Sydney, Jessie and Lena. PM me your email.

Someone on Ancestry has him in their tree, along with the Army records that @Sis found. He went Awol in 1891 (not sure if they ever found him) on this tree they have him with wife Eliza Mary Trigwell. But the strange thing is their name seems to change to Smith. All the children on this tree, fathered by Charles (Orlando) have the surname Smith. Did he change his name to Smith so that he wouldn't be found or has this person added the wrong person to their tree?

Beat me to it Chimp. I this is in a number of trees and I've been trying to find one that gives proof of it being him as Charles Smith, but none of them do. I cant find his marriage to Eliza Mary Trigwell/Tregwell either. Though I did find their son Charles Smith born 1893 in Horsham on the GRO and mmn is Tregwell.

Now looked at the service record on fmp and looking at his health record he must have been pretty busy! I realised the birth age after looking at the 1881 census but just went merrily on with the baptism date:oops:
I haven't found Sydney in his family and it was Leah not Lena. Maybe they made a mistake in the army with her name There is also a sister Georgina.
I take some trees with a pinch of salt.
Many years ago there was a tree online with some of my ancestors in it. I contacted that person and was able to add what I had.
This was fine until I noticed that there were a lot of incorrect entries because they had made a mistake with one person. I had certificates to back things up. I spent some time changing that tree but gave up in the end.

Bmd has an Orlando Charles Smith marrying in June qtr 1891 Shardlow district but not to Trigwell.
It spans Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.
Going to see if I can find her in a census.

That's not your Orlando. His marriage gives father as Samuel Smith and Orlando's age of 23.

    Don't expect to find him.
Just trying to debunk that online tree.
    I can't find Trigwell?Tregwell either.
Shall put Orlando on the backburner and put his siblings online instead.

She was born Eliza Mary Trigwell 1874 Horsham and she doesn’t appear to marry anyone. Perhaps they didnt bother.

If he apparently changed his name he wouldn't have been able to change his name would he, I suppose he could lie.
I have been trying to find the son born in 1893 in the 1901 census but too many to look for in that area.
