    Hello everyone,

In 1851 England, Wales & Scotland Census, Robert Robinson (b1814), wife Harriet Lawrence Robinson (b1816), their six children and brother-in-law, George Lawrence were living at Northend Clappin Gate, Harbridge, Fordingbridge, Hampshire. I cannot find Robert and Harriet in 1841Census. Please, help me find Robert’s and Harriet’s Parents and Grand Parents.

    Thank you.

    Rob

Just in case you have not seen it already, Family Search has the marriage taking place at Harbridge on 28th February 1837.

Shame that they could not wait until 1st July when civil registration started as then it would have details of their respective fathers... :(

From the 1851 census Harriet says born in Rockborne
Her brother George b1826 says born in Rockbourne too
There is a baptism in Rockbourne for a George Lawrence 31/7/1825 son of
William and Mary and one for Harriet 14/1/1816 with the same parents:)

    in Rockbourne Street, Rockbourne
William Lawrence age 45 - ag. lab.
    Ann age 15

As you can see the children's ages are a bit out but that is not usual, so
    this looks like Harriet's family

Hello AnnB, Draft Bat, and MollyMay,

From the help you gave me and my AncestryDNA 3rd half Cousin-match’s family tree, I have found my 2nd Great Grand Father, William Robinson (1779-1849) and his family. William was the biological Father of my paternal Great Grand Father, Robert Robinson (1813-1899). Thomas Robertson in Post #7 was therefore Robert’s stepfather.

Could Anne Robertson in Post #7 be Ann Bartlett (1791) who got married to Thomas Robertson (1785) on 11 Jan 1814 at Saint Mary’s, Portsea, Hampshire, England? I also need help to find Ann Robertson (1816)’s married name.

    Thank you for your help.

    Rob

I may be way off base here. There's a marriage of a Thomas Robertson on 3 March 1802 in Harbridge to Ann Mullins. All of the following children have Thomas and Ann Robertson as their parents.

Robertson John — 1803 Harbridge, Hampshire

Robertson Harriott — 1805 Harbridge, Hampshire

Robertson Thomas — 1807 Harbridge, Hampshire

Robertson William — 1810 Harbridge, Hampshire

Robertson Robert — 1813 Harbridge, Hampshire

Robertson Ann — 1816 Harbridge, Hampshire

Robertson James — 1821 Harbridge, Hampshire

These children could belong to the above couple, they all have Thomas and Ann Robertson as their parents.

Robertson David Thomas — 1809 Portsea, Hampshire

Robertson James Robert — 1824 Portsea, Hampshire

Robertson Jane Robert — — 1824 Portsea, Hampshire This one is a bit strange, may just be an incorrect transcription of the above James Robert Robertson, as the date of baptism is exactly the same.

    Robertson David Tho's. — 1809 Portsea, Hampshire

If you want exact dates for any of the baptisms, just let me know. These are all just transcriptions.

Couldn't find a marriage for Ann Robertson born c.1816.

Sis-you are not. Thank you for your Posts, #12, 13, 14, and 15. You have shown that my Robert Robinson (1813-1899) could not be Robert Robertson (1813-) as MollyMay’s Post, #7 suggests. Now, can you help me find the children of Ann Bartlett (1791-) and Thomas Robertson (1785-)? They got married on 11 Jan 1814 at Saint Mary’s, Portsea, Hampshire, England. Thank you. Rob

The only children I could find with parents of Thomas and Ann are those in Harbridge in my post #12. I searched with just Hampshire in case they moved out of Portsea, but nothing.:(
