I'm trying to find out who the local policeman was in Knighton.

    I have this so far.

    David Rogers b 1837 d 1920

1871 Sergeant of Police - Police Station
1881 Police Inspector & Deputy Chief Constable - Bridge St, Knighton
1891 Police Inspector & Deputy Chief Constable- Bridge St, Knighton

The Police Station was in Bridge Street. I have tried searching by address but none of the places show a police station or anything to do with the police in 1901.

I can't find who was before him or after.

Any clues on how to go about it?

Thanks very much Flook, hadn't thought of looking there.

Sadly I don't really have time to go to the archives at the moment. Was hoping to find a reference in the censuses.

Keep Rolling :D you're both doing brilliantly.

The old jail used to be where the clock tower now stands. That is at the bottom of the Narrows. The clock tower was built in 1872.
