Lots of German born or English born Sachs with German sounding first names on FS. Even lots registered for military service 1915. The one that amused me on 1891 census was Oscar Sachs, a photographer, German born, naturalised British subject had his 16 year old nephew living with him by the name of Hamish Sachs. Hamish, not a very German name. Lots of Sachs as well as others made their new home in Britain and fought for the flag. Just as they did and do here. :)

Of course don't forget 'Manuel' from Fawlty Fowers, Andrew Sachs whose father was German Jewish and his mother Catholic. They made a wonderful life escaping persecution.
