In the 1911 census of Wales, I came across an image where the relationship of a married male - William Owens age 22 and a Butcher by trade - is stated as "Honier Cur".

He had been married 2 years and had his 1 year old daughter with him.

Can someone with knowledge of the Welsh language explain this relationship to the head of house - John Evans age 59 and a Tailor. The address was 51 Oxford Street, Swansea?

I think that you will find that it reads Son in Law. :)

Thanks Jan - your eyesight is better than mine. ;) I had visions of a Common Law relationship to the person named right above him and daddy was resentful!!:p
