The banns for the above were 2nd July 1820 at St Andrew,Plymouth. Their son William was baptised 9th September 1820 at Plymstock and at that time the address was Oreston. I can't find the family on 1841 in Devon or Cornwall. I haven't the parents of Richard or Nancy. It is thought that Nancy died in Devon. Richard and son were in Cornwall because he was in gaol in Cornwall in 1849. It is believed that Richard died in Cornwall in 1851 at a workhouse and he was a brickmaker. Death certificate. William married Ann Buzza and a lot of information about them on the Cornwall thread,
Cornwall opc has two records, one says he was buried 12 Jan and the other 13 th Jan, one says he was 61 and the other 60!
The death certifiate has his death 12 January 1851 -age 60.He died at the Union Workhouse,Illogan. It was registered on the 14 January 1851, The 1849 newspaper has his age as 55 so I don't know if I have the right death. He signed on the marriage banns wife Nancy put a cross.
I have had no luck in finding Richard in 1841 (with or without Nancy). I cannot find any other children born to Richard and Nancy either - sorry not much help
There is a 29 March 1832 burial of Ann James age 40 at St Andrew in Plymouth. That is where son William was baptised. There is also a burial of Ann James age 4 on the 12 June 1828. Probably not Richard and Nancy's daughter. I wonder if father and son were in gaol in 1841. They seemed to like stealing in Cornwall. Ann age 4 not a daughter.
