Here's one for the new year. My great aunt would like to know about her gg grandfather. She reckons he probably made straight hoops like his son did. (it is a thing, I googled it) What she would like to know is where and when he was born, and anything about him as the trail goes cold with him. The only thing that is fairly certain is that her g grandfather Charles was baptised in April 1819 at St Peter and St Paul's church Fareham to Robert and Sarah Watson. I think that this is Sarah Hillyer and Robert Watson who married 1798 in Alverstoke. They are possibly the couple who had 5 children in Soberton (but nothing else to link them to there) then Charles was the last of 3 more children born in Fareham Although I can't find Sarah's death, Robert may have then married Martha Williams in 1824 in Alverstoke and had 5 more children in Fareham. There is a death in 1839 Fareham that could be him. All this looks good, but it all feels circumstantial. And there is no clue as to where he came from. Anyone have any ideas?
