It is with mixed feelings I tell you that our dear friend Flook passed away on Wednesday, having lost his battle, believe me it was an epic battle, with cancer.

He never once complained, said 'why me?' and was the most positive person I have ever known. He had more treatment than you can shake a stick at, traditional and pioneering and it did slow the cancer down but recently his medical team said there is nothing more to try.

Even then he said "ah free to watch the Ashes without interruption".

The mixed feelings I mentioned? I will miss a funny, clever, caring, strong man, but I'm pleased he never lost his independence and can now rest easy. TD has lost a great researcher and a friend.

    Rest in peace.

:( Sad for us. I was at a funeral Wednesday for someone in our circle of friends who had been ill for years and years, but never slowed down until last week. You have to admire folks like that, and miss them all the more. Hugs to Flook's family and friends. ():-)

Such a loss is Malcolm, to his Family & friends everywhere, many of whom he didn't know he had.
I shall miss my our 'map-man', & knowlegeable chum around Croydon / London areas.
What a fight he put up & such learning he must have given to the Doctors on his team.
We have all gained something as well in 'knowing' Malcolm-Flook, his tireless assistance & his calm endurance in the midst of something many of us will never experience.
God rest you Lad. sad daisy.JPG

A truly wonderful and inspirational person. He constantly amazed me with how he managed to remain so positive even at the very end.

The world is a much sadder place with his passing.

I was and still am proud to call Malcolm a friend. He was knowledgeable, witty, strong and could be a right wind up merchant and I loved him for it.

Malcolm was one of those 'good people' the sort you meet and don't want to lose. Rest Well mate.

I was shocked to read this sad news. I had no idea our Flook was ill - he never let on. I didn't know him well, but we spoke "lightly" on occasion and I always felt he was a good man.

My deepest sympathy goes to his family and to the people here on TD who obviously knew him well.

God bless you, Malcolm. You will be remembered fondly.
