That is sad news. He will indeed be a loss to our forum. My condolences to his family.
Very sorry to hear of Flook's passing. What a strong thoughtful man he must have been. Condolences to his family. Good on you Flook.
sorry to hear that news condolences to his family
he will be missed.
Rest in peace, Flook and thankyou for being with us.
Ah @Philippa that was the very nature of Malcolm. He never complained and always found a positive in every single thing. Apart from cricket of course..
So sorry to hear about Flook. A few years ago he spent what must have been ages going through hard to read parish reports on my behalf where he discovered that one of my ancestors was the father of 2 children whom he had to pay for before eventually marrying their mother. It solved the mystery for me of how one of my great grandfathers was older than his parents' marriage. It was painstaking research and it sounds like I am not alone in receiving such valuable help from Flook. He is a great loss to us all.
Makes me feel like a real woos for being so upset with my life's ongoing problems. Pity I (we) can't/don't follow Malcolm's example and spread more sunshine instead of gloom. OK, except when it comes to cricket!!
Facing the big C with a wry smile is certainly something to admire greatly in Flook, but don't knock yourself Philippa - you've made me smile lots of times
Like Philippa I had no idea Flook was ill so it was a great shock to read that news just now, so sad, a real shame.
Absolutely. And it feels as though our little internet family has a big hole in it now where someone important is missing.
Such sad news.... RIP x
I am very sad to hear of the death of Flook, he helped so many. I wonder where the name Flook came from? It's lovely and one I will forever remember. Rest in Peace Flook.
Sad, he will be missed, an inspiration to all of us.
Flook was a British comic strip which ran from 1949 to 1984 in the Daily Mail newspaper. It was drawn by Wally Fawkes, who signed the strips as "Trog". It was the first newspaper comic strip to be published by the New Zealand newspaper Otago Daily Times, where it ran from 1952 to 1979. (Check Wikipedia)
I remember it well from my childhood, a favourite of my father, along with "Giles"'s Grandma.
Such sad news. Condolences to his family and friends.
RIP Malcolm, dear friend. We will miss you xx
Flook was one of the names in his family tree.

God bless him. Sending love and thoughts to his family. Xxxx
Just catching up to posts after a 17 day R & R. Not the sort of news I wanted to hear, so condolences to the family.
It takes a strong person to face the issues he and the family faced, with a positive attitude and a smile to the end.
Condolences to Flook's family.
Very sad, condolences to his family
