    Hello everyone,

I am researching a family (not mine) with the last name of Wide. On the 1901 census, Samuel Wide is 75, Single and inmate at the Taunton Union Workhouse. Place of birth states Rockwell Green, Wellington, Somerset. I understand that it used to be called Row Green. I have not been able to find a birth/baptism for him.

An Ancestry site states his father is John Wide (1788-1861) and his mother is Hannah Stradling (abt 1786-1861). The Wide family appears to be from Devon, but could very well be border crossers.

Samuel Wide married Ann Dyer 1854 in Taunton.

Any information for the Wide family would be gratefully appreciated.

The marriage certificate is on Ancestry and does name Samuel's father as John, a labourer. Ann's father is also John, also a labourer!

    They wed in Otterford.

Thank you Daft Bat and Molly May. I guess that means a bit more research for me. LOL
