My 2nd cousin posed a question to me. Were there any laws in Scotland regarding supporting illegitimate children? One of her 3 or 4x gr. grandfather's was a laird and on top of his children he had with at least 2 wives, he is reputed to have had 35 illegitimate children   ! She wants to know where to look for help trying to trace some of them.

    She will be.....
She has been working on the family for years and has even visited the castle in Scotland, just wonders how far back the records would go to find out who all these children were of the the old rogue. There is lots of family tree information on the ntural family, but no one mentions the others.
