Searching in 1911 Bolton

I did the same thing.

He takes up with another woman, they have children together starting in 1915, eventually marrying in 1937. I cannot find what happened to his first wife, nor the child Lilian that I thought was theirs

 

I looked into that, she seems to be Elizabeth Alice when she dies ... unless I got confused

 

There was an Elizabeth Alice Ellen FOOTE born 1900 in Hackney, which is more likely to be the one that married Frederick Buckingham.

Her baptism says she was born 11 May 1900 and this is also her d.o.b. on the 1939 register.

 

There is an Ellen Foote born 1892, married under 1 year on the 1911 census with mother Rose Hannah Robinson. Grandmother Ann Grady and a couple of siblings.

I wonder if she is your Elizabeth Ann Ellen? Have to go out for a haircut now, so sorry, don't have time to look into it further.

 

The 1911 address is the same as on the marriage certificate of Francis George and Elizabeth Ann Ellen - 298 Manchester Road, so must be her.

 

ooh, Elizabeth's father James doesn't seem to have been a very nice person. Lots of convictions - a couple for assaulting his wife
