Ahhh, she's good.
Jeremiah marriage certificate, would they mention if the father deceased or not?
I reckon this must be the cleverest genealogy forum in the whole worldwide web!!
i never knew this site existed i was running out of steam! double thumbs up for this site!
Usually, but not always.
I have a number of instances where the father was deceased, but it wasn't recorded on the marriage cert.
Different Jeremiah, or not!!!
There's a Royal Navy discharge record for a Jeremiah CONSTINE [sic] age 24 born Rochester, Able Seaman, ship Hyperion, 7th Apr 1831
And this, also Royal Navy
Birth year 1807
Birth place Cove of Cork
Ship or unit St. Vincent
Entry year 1831
Entry date 11 Apr 1831
I got him as a mariner, seaman. What does ETA stands for?
Anyone know if i can get Jeremiah birth certificate at all?
Vicki, what occupation is given for Jeremiah's father? Also who were the witnesses?
No birth certificates pre 1837 in England, and later in Ireland (can't remember exact year, but in 1850's). Best you can hope for is a baptism record if one can be found.
I cant say cos i cant find my folder with certificates in. ive broken my ankle, will have to wait til hubby gets home to find it for me. x
was hoping to have baptism in portsea island if that is the case.
I have got Jeremiah as 1851 Pensioner Chelsea and in 1861 as Greenwich Pensioner. Think Michael a labourer. I hate it when thing goes missing. cant find my folder.
I followed the search on last night and stumped! The Michael and Mary in Portsmouth cant be the right one as they to had a child in the same year as Jeremiah! HELP please?
I saw that yesterday, Vicki. First thought was... might he have been a twin?
nope the date dont match, one in march and one in november.
Then it is conceivable that there were two births... there would still be at least eight months between the two. (My colleague managed that, once! Rather her than me...) Just a thought, anyhow.
the one thing that would tie it up is jeremiah baptism that would give a correct starting point. annoying family! lol your colleague brave!
I am not convince it the right one.
If Jeremiah's Father -Michael was also of navy persuasion, Jeremiah might have been born anywhere, if wife followed Hubby in his tours.
Several Michaels show in pension record ...some born Ireland. Others not.
Hi Jeremiah born in Cork, he joined royal navy 1824 in ireland! His father Michael is listed on marriage certificate occupation Labourer.
