He may have started working as a labourer after leaving the navy.

As an aside, an interesting article on the Royal Navy in Cork. 'Cork was valuable as a training base, in the early part of the 19th Century...'

    Will continue digging.

Can someone with a FMP subscription read this from Pension Records. My eyes are struggling! P.s. I hope it's OK to post the link as only subscribers will be able to open it.

I, too, am not sure this Michael & Mary are connected to your Jeremiah from the subsequent information found, as he appears to have married in London and also been born there, but the name Michael CONSTANTINE is relatively uncommon so thought it worth a mention especially as 4 children were born pretty close to Portsea.

Will send a private message re possible transcription of the information on FMP as not too sure how their terms and conditions will affect posting it on here even though you obviously have a subscription.

I can only read bits and pieces. From what I can gather (and I may be wrong) but I think that money due to Jeremiah was to be paid to his wife ad he was at that time serving on the ship called Trincomalee. If you google 'trincomalee ship naval action' it was built shortly after the end of the Napoleonic wars. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

    Edit
Oh dear just read Janet's last paragraph. Mods please remove if necessary. (I always get confused as to what I can and can't post from such places, sorry:confused:)

The one above is to Elizabeth CONSTANTINE dated 22 October 1847 re return of Certificate and refers her to Captain WILLSON as C of Pensioners Portsmouth re amount due to Jeremiah. This has the address of 11 Crown Street at the bottom of the record.

I'm with you Sis and get totally confused as to what is and isn't allowed but as most of the participants in the latter part of this thread have a sub to FMP, I'm hoping it is okay to post this.

Having done some research, i think Michael born limerick possible related to Jeremiah but on RN Record states no wife at the age of 49. it is still possible as Jeremiah not born til 1805.
