I'm supposedly a descendant of Dafydd Gam Ap Llewellyn.

But before we go there, I'm wondering about the name "Gam" or "Games" and if it really morphed into Gaines in the North American British Colonies?

I wonder if anyone here has any insight on that?

Didn't David Gam save King Henry the 5th's life at Agincourt? and was Knighted post-humously? I have doubts that I am his descendant, but that's what the family says. At this point I'd be satisfied with a confirmation of any ties to Wales via the Gaines name.
