Elizabeth Jane CURNOW was baptised in Zennor, Cornwall on 14 Apr. 1844 to parents John and Jane. Her birth was registered in Penzance R.D. 1st q. 1841. John was a Miner. Her mother was Jane Austis/Eustace and they were married in Zennor on 9 Jul. 1840.

Elizabeth Jane is with her parents in 1841, 1851 and 1861 census.

I think this is her in 1871 - RG10/2332/56/4 - in Uny Lelant, with husband William H. Addams[sic] age 50 a Miner and son Samuel age 6. I have a birth of a Samuel ADAMS in Penzamce R.D. 4th q. 1864 which is probably his birth.

The only marriage that I can find for a William H. ADDAMS/ADAMS is this one - Penzance R.D. 1st q 1863. vol. 5c page 511. There are 2 men but only one woman - Elizabeth Jane Tonkin.

In 1881 census - RG11/2340/8/17 - in Uny Lelant Elizabeth Jane is now a widow with 2 children - Samuel age 16 and Lily age 5. She is employed as a a Domestic Servant and the residence is Balnoon. I am having problems locating his death.

The daughter - Lily - was registered Penzance R.D 1st q 1876. Cornwall OPC has a baptism of a Lily Maria Adams on 2 Apr. 1886 - residence Balnoon. There is the following transcription under Notes: S. Mary's M.C., born 29 Nov. 1875.
The mother is named as Elizabeth Jane and there is no father named.

There is a marriage for Elizabeth Jane Curnow March qtr 1863
    Penzance v5c page 311
There is no male named, so it looks like the page number for EJC has been mistranscribed and she is the missing female from page 511

I think the age is 30 (FMP has it as 30 - there is a thick black line through the first number)
If so then there is a death of William Henry Adams age 31 June qtr 1871 Penzance 5c 197.

OK Hannah Curnow is not a child of Elizabeth and William - there is another family John and Mary Adams living in Balnoon in 1881 (RG11/2340/79/16) with children including Hannah
(John Adams married Mary Curnow Dec qtr 1869 Penzance 5c 498)
