Looks to me like you have been so doing Ann.
Definitely the right chap.
I was so excited last evening that I telephoned Granddaughter #2 and told her. She is beside herself - totally gobsmacked and is contacting Granddaughter #3, who is currently abroad, to tell her. She will also tell her Mum, George's daughter.
Meanwhile, I will tell all in person to Granddaughter #1 who is terminally ill. She will be sooooo happy to know about Grandpa George as he has been an enigma that the family have always wondered about.
A HUGE THANK YOU to you all.
And I missed it all because I was... out weeding.
Well, someone doesn't have their priorities right.
George was in the Muller Orphanage, Bristol in 1901. I have just spoken to a lovely lady who deals with their research queries and she will be sending copies of all of his paperwork to me.
Cannot stop smiling!
Result! - as they say.
Hope you had more success than I did....my ground is like concrete
This is absolutely brilliant Jan - I looked up the orphanage and was about to suggest you contacted them as they appear only too happy to supply copies of the orphan's records. Now you know you have the right chap, they should make interesting reading - I hope
Spray them [weeds] with vinegar or hot salty water
