There You Are!

Hello Jane
Glad you have found us, welcome aboard.
As to the bathing issue - Apparently,, Elizabeth I declared
that she bathed once a month “whether I need it or not.” Because of her frequency, she was considered the perfect embodiment of cleanliness. 'Nuff said.

There's an international convention being held here in Canberra next year by a group of women who share the first name "Shirley". I think they said there are about 180 registered to attend. Seems as though we could support a similar group here for "Jane" holders/owners/wearers/havers/whatever. The number certainly seems to be growing!!!! :D

I'm currently trawling through (and filing) WO 363, looking for mis-filed members of the family. Don't believe the "most of the records were destroyed in WW2" line - paper is very difficult to burn when it's packed in tight wadges.

Hi Jane, I've been following your work with great interest and appreciation. Apart from posting your findings, who do you notify so other researchers can benefit from your efforts?

Hi Stafford
It's nice to know I'm appreciated! The answer to your question is - no-one! I just hope that my contributions will pop up when anyone googles a name.

I am cataloguing each section that I go through, in alphabetical order, and intend passing that on to anyone who wants it ... No-one has yet asked about the few names I've covered, and it'll be years before I finish the whole lot!
