Thomas is my 7X great grandfather. He served as Parish Clerk at Hawkshead until his death in 1743. His life is fully documented back to 1710 when he appears in the registers for the first time, out of the blue. Prior to that date there is absolutely nothing. One contact has suggested he and his wife Alice may have moved from the Westmorland fells to the west of Ullswater as she had found one Deason marriage recorded around 1640. Over to the experts
The Deasons appear in Hawkshead as early as 1713 from what I can see on Family Search. Various children baptised to fathers James or Thomas - would that be your Thomas? Could James be his brother? Just random thoughts....
He could well be but like Thomas he simply appears out of the blue. He could have married twice and was living in Near Sawrey when he died in 1753. There is no MI for him. As Thomas' MI shows, nobody knew exactly how old he was when he died. According to the Middleton registers Thomas junior died in May 1763. Some descendants do have 'em.
