It was reported that Ronnie Wood was to have been on this series but he is of Bargeman/Romany stock and it has taken too long to sort his family history out, so it has been relegated to the series next year. I do hope they do it, he is a 'local' boy (my friend's husband went to school with his sister), that aside, it would be good to see how they trace the more difficult ancestoral lines.

I do recognise some of the names for this series but as long as their families are interesting I do not really care who the 'name' is.

I hope they do it too, I've just found barge men in my family, although I'm not sure if they are Romany. That would be very interesting

Just bumped this up, as a reminder the first episode is tonight - really looking forward to it (I have managed to miss all of the 'spoilers' in the daily press too!).

Yes it was worth watching, went at a nice steady pace and explained clearly about Daniel's ancestors without the need to think "where did they get that info from"

I enjoyed it too - nice to see that they are now using newspapers as another source.
