Drat, I was expecting a will to be delivered on Monday and to be able to order another one. Oh well, it's not as though I'm short of things to do.
Not able to order, but if you have FMP or Ancestry they have cached records of the England & Wales Government Probate Death Index 1858-2019. I mainly use them to look up addresses and death dates.
The site is back up but blowed if I can get any results [even for wills I know about] and logging in tells me my account is not found. Feedback sent. Teething troubles I hope.
I get as far as "Sign In" and put my email address in and then click on continue and get There is a problem HTTP/1.1 404 returned for "https://hmcts.irm31-insight-a-uk.com/nuxeo/api/v1/automation/AC_ExternalUserAccess_FindUser".
When I tried it yesterday it was slower than a snail on tranquilisers - and returned no results for a probate I have seen on the register previously. Obviously another project outsourced to a company that doesn't know the maning of testing before implementation.
It says that you can search for a probate record by post. Not a lot of use if you haven't the details.
Received email today "Dear Customer Thank you for your feedback. Due to unforeseen circumstances the resumption of the online service has been delayed. The website landing page will be updated shortly with additional information. We apologise for any inconvenience created. Kind regards HMCTS Wills Helpdesk"
Just seen their new beta search page. Looked for the wills of my grandparents, of which I have copies, only to get the response "no trace". If it ain't broke, don't fix it..... I will have other delves tomorrow when I'm back on the laptop...
So I can get back on there again and search but only after changing my password because it didn't now meet the criteria because it didn't contain "a special character" ie the usual# or $ or whatever you like to put. So now have let them know that they have not put the "My Wills" button on there so when they email you to say that a will is ready for download then you won't be able to get it. Had to remind them of their wording in the help pages " You will get an email when it is ready to download. You will then be able to log in to the system and go to “My Wills” and save each available item to your computer. After you have logged in, the copy will be available for 31 days, so make sure that you save it before then."
Still not working. I tried the search I attempted the other day with the result "0 document pages returned". The Probate Calendar, which I can access through the "A" subscription site, shows me that there were three probates matching my search criteria. I've sent them another email with the evidence and asked "Please cut your - and customer - losses and revert to the old, working system until you have tested the new one properly and ensured that it is working."
@GJH I am having exactly the same problems. They will have a full and frank response via their feedback button later today.
Oh for goodness sake! The following is now popping up when I try to log into it. Another thing to add to my list...
