Hello Angela - welcome to Top Dog,

I have a friend, now in his 90s, who had TB of the leg. He contracted it when he was 10 years old and ended up having a rod inserted down the length of his leg to enable him to walk.

    Hi Jan

Possibly should have posted as a newbie first but thank you for the welcome!

It would be interesting to know the level of continuing problems post TB and insertion of rod.

    Hi Angela,

I don't think that it held him back much. Even in his nineties, although walking with a limp (he has to "throw" his leg to one side) he still doesn't use a walking stick!

That is really good to hear and it certainly seems that your friend has been able to live what might be termed as a normal active life.
