What is the name?

I am looking at the mother's maiden name for Mary Esther GILBERT. It reads "Eliza GILBERT formerly ........"

I have my thoughts as to what it might be but would appreciate other's views.

Lairsdale/Larisale? If you look at the "r" in Gilbert they are similar and it looks like a dot above one of the letters so an "i"

My first thought was Lansdale, but there does seem to be a dotted ‘i’ in there which makes it more like Lairsdale

Family search have it as Lansdale.

(I'm probably way off mark)

The father seems to have been James Augustus Gilbert.

There seems to be births for several children to James A and Eliza Gilbert.

They seemed to travel around Ireland, but I suppose with James being an Army School Master it came with the job.

They had a son in 1872, Augustus Lansdale Gilbert.

Now I don't know If James went to India as part of his teaching, but there is this death:-

LANSDALE was my first thought but I do find that dot to be confusing....

For what it is worth, at the first look, I read it as Lansdale (I didn't see the dot)

my first look said Lansdale didn't notice a dot and looking now just thought it was a blot?
