Found a baptism transcription that gives d.o.b. 8 June and baptism 29 June 1890.
The John Simpson Grisel found has a dob 8/6/1890
Looking at males with that dob, only John Simpson has a wife Agnes A,
of the others with an Agnes in the family - no Wilfred/Fred, one John W but he is a single man with his family, no surname Nancollas or Smith.
There is a death registration of a 78 year old John C SIMPSON in the June quarter of 1968, Meriden Reg. District, Warwickshire.
Just found a death registration of a 58 year old Agnes A SIMPSON - June quarter 1941, Stratford Reg. District (which borders Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire).
Oh, ignore that last one - my maths is 10 years out
It's been a long day, trying to sort things out for a 98 year old Uncle. Think I should stop now
There is plenty here for Genie1 to look at now.
Give yourself a break @Jellylegs
Did you see the death registration of a Wilfred J G Smith in 1926 age 30 at Edmonton 3a 720
There are a couple of possibilities in the 1901 census in the same area. A bit late now to check them out - need my bed.
I wouldn’t put much credence in ‘Mr and Mrs Simpson’. If they were having an affair its wholly unlikely they would use their real names.
My friend may buy the marriage certificate to see what is on it.
Don't hold out any hope of finding him yet.
Separate names with a comma.
