    I’m stuck  already:(

please can anyone help. William Hillier and Mary Neate we’re married in Bishops Cannings in 1785 - Sept 12th. They had 1 child as far as we know George my gggg grandad. They lived in Wilcot West Stowell (where George was born).

I can’t seem to find anything else on William and Mary eg, birthdates, parents etc and just wondered if anyone could help or point me in the right direction.

    Thankyou {-(^^)-}xxx

Oh thank you so much for this :p I’ve not come across this information. It’s just hard finding things now in the 1700s - everybody seems to have the same names it’s so confusing at times:rolleyes:
Ill try and have a look into this hun and let you know how I get on - Thank you {-(^^)-}xxx

Not sure if this is of any relevance.
In 1851 William Hillier, 88 (b c 1863), Bishops Cannings is living with wife Alice in Calne.
William Hillier/ Alice Reeves married 3 February 1823. Calne.

    From GRO Index.
Death. William Hillier. Dec Q 1851. Calne. Age 90

Ive had a squizz at the Wilts Marriages CDs but sadly the Calne marriage to Alice is not there. I wondered whether it might have shown that William was a widower when they married. Do you know when William and Mary died?

Marriage of William and Alice shows both opt and both made Mark. No mention of him being widowed

It's on Ancestry - just says "of this Parish" for both. Not even Batchelor/Spinster :(
