I have tracked data back to William Tombs (1728-1791) and his marriage to Mary Bennet (1728-1808), at Cuddesdon on 3 August 1754.
I have not been able to find any information on either William's or Mary's parents. Can anyone help please?
    Thank you.

There is a family tree 'The Trayners' on line. It has William Tombs born 1726 father William Tombs born 1695. William Tombs jnr marrying Mary Bennett born 1728. They inturn had a son John Tombs born 1758 who married Mary Willis born 1758.
Checking Family Search, John Tombs baptised 2 April 1758 father William Tombs Cuddeston Oxfordshire.

There is a Rootschat enquiry of a William Tombs who was supposed to have been baptised in Wheatley Oxfordshire in 1795. A marriage was found to Ann Armbrough 2 April 1815 Oxford St Michaels both of the parish. The witness was Thomas Armbrough....darn... forget that. I'm 100 years too late. Sorry..

Looking at the Oxfordshire FHS Marriage Index, it would appear that the TOMBS/TOMBES name goes back quite a way in Cuddesdon. The earliest marriage is one of a William TOMBES & Jane HOLSWORTH at Cuddesdon on 26 January 1593. Then quite a gap for marriages at Cuddesdon but there is a marriage of a John TOMBS at Cuddesdon on 2 December 1751 to an Elizabeth LEAVER - could he perhaps be a brother of your William TOMBS who married Mary BENNET? An Elizabeth TOMBES married Bartholomew CHAPMAN of Wheatley at Cuddesdon on 27 April 1767 and a Mary TOMBES married Thomas COOPER on 16 May 1772 at Cuddesdon.
