Two old pictures

I have two old photographs from different albums. Would you say they are both of the same young man?

They certainly look the same. Every facial feature, ears, build, slope of shoulders, hands. If both photos appear to be from same era, I'd say "yes."

They could very well be - but do wait for other opinions, as faces and likenesses aren't my strongest point.

You see, when I came across the second picture I thought it was the same person, but the more I looked at it, the more I had my doubts. I think it's because the second has quite thick wavy hair, which is tamed underneath a cap on the first one.

The first has a name pencilled in on the back, the second is blank, but I think I can safely say now that they are one and the same.

I do think they are mirror images, the slope of his shoulders, the way he stands and the way he holds his hands. And he is the spitting image of my next door neighbour's son.......

I'm firmly in the yes camp. For me it's all down to posture, plus shape of chin, eyes and ear lobes.

I hadn't noticed that (or the ring, in fact). I thought it was a buttonhole but looking again it is a badge or medal of some kind.

I think that's a hinged pin, Sis.

It appears to be a star brooch with two tassles attached, and an enamelled front with something written on it. Last letter 'c' with serifs.
