As they are cutting the cake, I would suggest that they are bride and groom.

I agree with Jan it is one of the standard wedding pictures - the pose with the knife (his hand on hers) before the cake is cut.

It is just to me the Bride looks so much younger that the Groom and there are no marriages in the family that would match that

I am not so sure he is that much older than the bride, I would say neither were very young (he 30's she mid to late 20's).
He is wearing 'tails', so a smart wedding! Although 3 tiers the actual cake elements are quite small, perhaps late 1950's

That's the thing with old black and white photographs - they can make people seem older. The slicked over hair also makes the groom look older than his years.

I agree with @MollyMay about the date. My parents wed in 1952 and Mum's dress is very similar - as was their cake.....
