Hi everyone
What a great looking forum this is, and from reading some of the responses to other newbie posts, seems to be filled with lovely people too. I'm glad to have joined!
My ancestors were predominantly from three counties: Kent, Hampshire & Berkshire though I've recently discovered some came over from Ireland way back when. I haven't a clue how to even begin researching that but hopefully I'll get some handy tips on here.
I first got into genealogy as a way of leaving some family history for my eldest daughter. A month later she admitted she's not particularly interested, but by then I'd seen my first Census and was hooked!
I'm off to London in a couple of weeks, cemetery searching (as you do!), and am planning on visiting the National Archives in Kew. If anyone would like anything looking up I can pre-order another 10 documents. Let me know, I'm happy to help.
Tata for now
