Hello folks, I'm John Abbott from a small Hamlet in Northamptonshire called Ringstead. Four years ago i started Ringstead Heritage group. The village is the birthplace to Maggie Thatchers Father Alfred Roberts and as a child, she stopped in the village in her school holidays, another old Surname "Tuttles" lived in the village in the 15th century. Ringstead papermill in the 19th century supplied paper to Jane Austen (1815) and the village was prominent in the 19th century for making Boot & shoes from its three factories. Thanks John.
Glad that you made it, John! Have a rummage round and post your questions and the good folk here will do their best to help. Good luck!
very interesting website! my adoptive mom's Tuttle's came from Ringstead (I believe, don't have my tree open right now), she has all very early American roots, and many from England. She also has Abbotts. Nice to meet you, Lisa
