Hello
I am researching a relatives ancestors. I have just found on a 1911 census return a spouse born in "Military Barracks, Gibraltar". I wonder where I can find more information.
To give some background .................................

From the 1911 census
George James Percy READ (1882) Born in Derby
May READ (1885) Born in Military Barracks Gibraltar
Frederick READ (1909) Born in Salford
They had been married two years

From GRO I found a birth
Frederick Arthur READ March quarter 1909 Born in Salford, Mother's maiden name O'Dea

From FreeBMD I found
George READ married Harriet May O'Dea in September quarter 1908

From 1939 register I got
Harriet's birthdate as 21/5/1885, and
Frederick's as 6/2/1909

I would like to find Harriet's parents but do not know where to look for overseas births - any suggestions?

I know I can apply for George and Harriet's marriage certificate which will give some information - but that takes over three weeks to arrive in New Zealand.
Thanks
David

Also on FMP but no parentage mentioned. Says to find in General Register Office. but which one? not UK.
Baptism also shows now parents names.

Someone on Ancestry has Harriett May O'dea in their tree. She has several brothers and sisters, Ada 1877 right up to Albert 1897. On the GRO there are registrations for Ada and Albert (haven't looked for the rest, as I think the rest were born abroad)

Mothers maiden name is PUTMAN not a million miles away from TIDMAN found by @MollyMay in #4

The tree does not have the following marriage, I went searching for it and found it on FMP.

There is a marriage for James O'DEA to a Harriet PUTMAN in St John's Cathedral, Portmouth on 14 Aug 1875.

Thank you so much for the last two messages.
So much more food for thought and to investigate further.
Thank goodness winter is approaching meaning I'll have more time in-doors.
Kind regards to all
David
