Weighs bags of coal for domestic use ? I think that’s a dividing line between ‘coals’ and ‘weigher’

Thanks Archie's Mum. I had Worker in coals - it was the bit after I couldn't make out. I can now see weigher. I wonder if the last bit could be "& c" - and checker, maybe?

Worker in coals. Possibly someone added capital ‘W’ over the ‘s’ then decided to write ‘weigher, uc’ under it?
Could he be a weigher for the urban council?

That's what I was about to suggest.

I've got a number of checkweighmen in my mining bunch so perhaps it was a similar responsibility but in a coalman's yard... I don't know. Not seen anything like that before.

Coals weigher, etc. The squiggle just means that word belongs with coals, not the line below.
