Well using Logan I looked on the GRO and it gave mmn as Cave - so I looked for a daughter in 1855 - nothing:(

But there is this:-

I think Care is close enough to Cave:)

FMP have transcribed it as Wyassa

It's even more puzzling in 1861, so I tried Blackmore as the suname, year of birth 1854 +/- 1 and Shaftesbury reg district on the GRO site...... and came up with

That must be one of the weirdest names I've ever seen
Snap MM :D

The family are at the same address in 1861 RG09/1649/31/19

FMP made no attempt to transcibe the name

I have no idea how you would pronounce it though.

Euphrasia Crocker died in 1932 in Sherborne.
Have you compared the ‘y’ in ‘Wyrassa’ to the ‘y’ in Mary down further?
Sorry Mugsy but it looks like an ‘f’ :)

you are probably right, but I can only see what I can see :D but I have taken another look at it and yes I will go with "Ufrassa"

this handwriting which is on the surface quite straightforward has caused me many stumbles
