Could it be Jackson? Are there any other 'J's that could be compared?

    Thanks AM

I have tried finding this lady in the previous or next census, but have drawn a complete blank. I was even doubting the first letter was an L

Sadly no, it is a signature on a m/c.
Jackson might get me more hits than surnames beginning with L;)

Could it be LACKMAN? There is a Mary Ann LACKMAN married to Samuel in the 1851 census of Portsea (HO107/1658, folio 232, page 15).

    FMP has them as Jackmano_O.
I am clutching at straws, hoping Mary Ann can give me more info on the couple who married (Before the event). The other witness didn't (although he shared a similar occupation to the groom) and died before 1861.

Sorry to be vague, but I am looking on someone else's behalf and am not sure if they want it in the public domain - will check and then post if he is happy.

    Thank you Derek,

I had hoped she was a married sister, or future bride of one of the parties siblings, but no such luck.
