I've lost it....

My knitting history matches yours, Sis.
And the genealogy. I got fed up with finding the children of my 3xGt Gran's siblings ... do I really need to go that far out?

Just recently, I've lost hours doing jigsaws online.
So much easier on the back than the real thing - no bending forward.

Thanks, I'll take a look. Used to love doing jigsaws many years ago.

Nooooo. Not online.......find a Wasgij....look it up. Hubby just loves them. Nothing like a jigsaw or Wasgij in this case, sitting on the table waiting for a victim to walk past and spot a piece that fits. “Been looking everywhere for that piece”. Great time wasters. When finished he swaps them with whoever has finished theirs. They could start a club.
Besides that, buying them locally keeps someone in a job. What’s needed just now.

I may look in to a sub for newspapers. If @AnnB could tell me which is the best site. Just maybe I can find some ancestors in them. See you've all sparked my interest again, how long it will last remains to be seen.:D
I would recommend the British Newspaper Archive. I know they are owned/run by FMP and that you can get the papers on FMP, but I think there is far more flexibility in the searches on the BNA. Others may disagree. There is also Welsh Newspapers on-line which has the benefit of being free. Although the papers are Welsh (no surprise there :D) and there is fairly limited coverage, it's surprising how much news from the rest of the UK can be found.

You'll find it's very addictive......:reading:

Thank you @AnnB. I have FMP but can't seem to find much, probably my ancestors not being newsworthy.:D Or maybe it's just my searching skills.:D

Like lots of things, it really is a case of practice makes perfect ;) And you do need a certain amount of patience, which I have plenty of when it comes to newspaper searching, but maybe not so much of for certain other things...

You can do that online? well ofcourse you can, isn't everything online now? I have so far preferred crosswords or clueless puzzles, but so far the biggest challenge is getting a book from local Library on hold. Everything is 'pending' or in transit. How far away are these darn books? Even Ebooks are a bit of a let down for same reasons.

One day i will bust out of here & go do things in shopping centres.

Love a clueless crossword. Had one in the daily paper but in their ‘wisdom’ they removed it.....not happy. Now love the code cracker with my morning coffee. Still buy our paper each morning at the newsagent. Guess it won’t be long before that’s over and out. No joy for old folks these days. Now hear that cashless supermarkets are going to be the norm as it’s what the younger people want.......HELLOOOOOO. So use your card for a packet of crisps....:sceptical:
