Cornish to the Core
Annie Richards married Richard Cannicott 11 February 1886,The cerificate is on Familysearch.
Annie's father is labourer but what is Richard's father? The first word looks like soldier but I can't make out the 2nd word.
The first letter looks to be H and the last S

I think that she is My relative although they haven't put her middle name of Mary.
She is the right age and the father on the certifiate is correct and William is a witness, Annie May had a brother named William.
I look online and someone has an Annie J Richards marrying Richard Cannicott with a daughter that died in Ontario, Lilian J Cannicot married Alfred Ernest Rapson.
Now I don't know if I have the right marriage.

There was a Richard Cannicott born c1841 who served in the Royal Marines Light Infantry. He married Hannah Trigger in 1863, giving his occupation as 'Marine in Her Majesty's Service'.

In 1861 he is onboard the ship Donegal moored at Hamoaze, but must have been serving (abroad?) in 1871 as Hannah an her children, including Richard born c1866, are at Battery Street, East Stonehouse, Devon.

In 1881 Richard Sr is in the Hospital Barracks at Walmer/Eastry, Kent & is a Lance Corporal RMLI. His wife is now Kate (Taylor), although the Banns in 1880 show him as a bachelor.

Hannah was very much alive, however, and in 1881 is in the Union Workhouse, Chard, along with Edith b1874 & Elizabeth c1877, but I'm not yet sure what happened to her after that.

The other children from 1871 are Emily (c1867) and George Edwin (1870), and in 1881 George is in the Budock Union Workhouse, Falmouth, along with another sibling, William, born 1873. Emily is an apprentice in Illminster, Chard, and Richard Jr is a Farm Servant in Falmouth.

It looks like Hannah must have been a regular at the workhouse, as the West Briton and Cornwall Advertiser 20 Nov 1873 says she was the wife of a marine on HMS Ganges and a pauper inmate of the Falmouth workhouse for some months. She was brought up before Captain Norway RN for refusing to bathe  and as she still refused was sentenced to 14 days hard labour

The Richard that married Annie in 11 February 1886 was full age and Annie was 19. Richard's father was Richard. The marriage certificate is on familysearch. Manaccan, page 61.
1911 Ann has had 12 children and they are all alive. Must have been lucky in those days to have all of your children still alive.

There is a William Kannicott in 1891 born Flushing 1874 and he is a servant.Tregithew Farm,Manaccan.Don't know if he is related or not to the Andromeda post.
