My friend who collects silhouettes has one dated 1833 but we are unable to fully read what is written on the back.

We have some ideas, but would be grateful if the super sleuths here are able to help in any way.

Yes, that was my thought as well.

I think that it ends with "St James, Islington".

There is a list of Rectors of St Giles from 1547 on Wikipedia but nothing at all like the name on the top of the card.

Maybe it is St Giles in the East instead of the Fields....

Looks like the end of the word ‘ield’ though.

In the 88th year of his age, the Rev. J. Shepherd, M. A., more than forty years Lecturer at St Giles in the Fields and formerly Minister of the Episcopal Chapel, Queen-square, Westminster

Looking for him in earlier papers, his Christian name was John and he was an 'afternoon lecturer' at St Giles and when he died he was of Great Smith Street, Westminster.
