Malcolm Chambers was born in November 1822 in Stornoway, Rossshire, Scotland to parents Alexander and Ann Chambers nee McLeod.

In 1841 he is with his parents and siblings living at Francis Street, Stornoway, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. This gives his birth as 1826.

He married on 8th Oct 1845 to Christian McLennan and in 1851 they and their children are living at Bayhead Street, Stornoway, Lews, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland, says born 1823.

The marriage I'm looking for is for his parents Alexander Chambers to Ann McLeod.
 
Bingo! FMP has a marriage transcription on 10 July 1807 at Stornoway for an Alexander CHALMERS, Taylor, & an Anne McLEOD. Sounds likely doesn't it.

Neither had I to start off with until I extended the date search and entered Alexander to Ann McLEOD! It does sound a good possibility though doesn't it, especially as Alexander's profession is shown as a Taylor. Fingers crossed.
