Hello from the Great Southern Land

Not too bad here at our house either but we are in town. We know a sheep and crop farmer at Canowindra and he says its just awful.
Driving near Wellington your car wheels thump over millions of squished bodies who were too slow to get across the road. Its just so heart breaking. The poor farmer has copped enough lately. Driving the machinery over the paddocks and they pop out from mouse holes all over the place. I'm told though that once they run out of food they turn on each other and then they eat their babies....that should do it....fingers crossed.
Nice to have you returning to genealogy but kids come first.

So quick question as I slooooowly start to get back into things. When picking a line to post about, how much information is not enough, a lot of names I have are either just one name, with either their spouse and sometimes a marriage date but not much else.

Thanks

I would suggest starting with just one name with as much information about them as you have and what it is that you are looking for.

For example:

John Smith
Born about 1855 in Linton, Cambridgeshire to parents John and Mary. He married Jane Brown in Linton in 1876.
I have him in the censuses up to and including 1901 but then he disappears.
I am now needing to find out what happened.

If anyone needs any further information, then they can ask. :)

Hmm seems every couple of years I pop back in. Although I do lurk occasionally just to see what's going on. I'll be checking out a few of my family lines again to double check things for looking for certificates.

Hope everyone is doing well.
Hopefully I'm around a bit longer this time

Posting here as not sure where to put it.

I would like to apologise to everyone who has been helping me this most recent time. I've mentioned in a couple of lines that I've suddenly found something written in pencil.

This is a case of me, this time, actually going through my notes and paying attention to pencilled in bits instead of ignoring them.

So apologies for not including everything I have. I'll try and fix things in some of the lines.

Thank you

Another couple of years since I was last here roughly. I do hope everyone is going well.
I took a bit of a break from family history for many reasons but am slowly getting back into it again.

In fact I'm going to post in my Platt forum with something I found that seems to be the right person.....

Cheers all!!
