What does the letter 't' mean?

Some of the men had the letter 'f' or the letter 'y' after their names.
 
I hadn't looked for his burial record. When did he die?

In future I must try findagrave first.
I see that he had a son named Samuel and I hadn't found him but had the other three.
Daughter Mary is my interest.She married William Polglase but no death for her yet.
I haven't looked at this family for sometime but I am sure there is Polglase post somewhere on this site.
