Surname help please

Can you decipher what the surname of the informant for Cornelius Shaughnessy's birth is? I have included the entries above and below if that helps. I "know" what I want it to be and trying to avoid confirmation bias.

It looks like Margaret WHELAN to me. Possibly Cornelius' maternal grandmother?

That was what I was thinking just not found a birth for Johanna yet

Although the mother's name is Maud (mn DWYRE ) rather than Margaret, there is a baptism for a Johanna WHELAN that took place on 26th December 1846 in Nenagh. The thing that caught my eye was that Johanna's father's name was Cornelius.

Margaret might equally have been a sister.....

I think Johanna was Judith.

Patrick Shaughnessy and Judith Whelan married on 26 Dec 1867 in Nenagh. There is a note under the entry which I think says These ?parties? are from Silvermines.

Cornelius' baptism names his parents as Patrick and Judith Whelan. A bit strange, but it looks as though he was baptised on the day he was born - perhaps he wasn't expected to live?

If I have the correct couple, on the 1901 census they are Pat (born 1839) and Johanna (born 1841) - both Co. Tipperary. There is also a son Timothy with them.

The 1911 census has them as Pat (born 1839) and Judy (born 1840). Married 45 years. Children born alive - 7. Children still living - 5.

I tried looking for a baptism of a Judith Whelan, but there are a few to chose from. Having said that, I was searching for ones with a mother named Margaret, or variants of - but then as @Daft Bat mentioned, Margaret could have been a sister - or another relative.

Will have another look tomorrow.

I can't really see WHELAN (Maybe if I screw up my eyes). It doesn't compare well with the bride's former name.
More like ATHELAN.

"Present at birth". A midwife?
The entries above & below show "father"/"mother". Does the registrar use any other relative's titles in other entries?

My eyes are old - probably mistaken!

@kernowmaid @Libby I was having the same issues until I saw that the "t" at the end of Margaret was merging into the "W" at the start of Whelan. I desperately wanted it to be Whelan so asked here so as not to fall into confirmation bias.
