Talented people, I’m now working on my girls grandfathers side.

He was born in1942

His father Bernard Day Mowl 1914-1995 Cambridgeshire.

I know Bernard was married twice .. I believe to Frances Darbon 1918.. then he left her for Florence Petley 1918.

I “ think “ Florence Petley was the girls' grandfather's mother ..

I can’t find any correct details on Florence Petley other than a census to confirm she lived with & married Bernard Day Mowl.

I’ve a dead end on Florence Petley. I’ve found a Leonard Petley, but zero dates .

Can anyone help

Bernard was living at 52 Rock Road, Cambridge in the 1921 census with his parents Herbert Day Mowl and Edith (née Walker) plus brother Eric. Herbert and Edith had married in 1909. :)
 
His mother is listed on FreeBMD birth registration. It’s not Petley and I can find no marriage to Darbon. She married someone else in 1950.
 
Being crypic here as to avoid naming possible living people.
If you look on FreeBMD (or other birth registration sites) for a Mowl birth in 1942, one does appear with the mother's maiden name of Darbon.

Interesting. There is a marriage in someone's tree on Ancestry that gives a marriage date of 2nd August 1940 between Bernard Day Mowl and Frances Mary Darbon. But no place is mentioned and no sources given. I'll be blowed if I can find it anywhere... :sceptical:
 
As the birth in 1942 gives the mother's maiden name of Darbon, it makes me wonder if it was a completely different Darbon mother to Frances. Only the birth certificate of the child in question will answer that.

Wondering if that’s my tree as I have those details , I’d first got Bernard and Florence Petley as parents to said son .. but through here found out mother is Frances Darbon.

Found it :) Frances Mary Darbon married Bernard Day Mowl in 1940 in Maryhill, Scotland, found on Scotland's people. If in doubt, try Scotland ;)
