Which man did Elizabeth Emery marry?

Elizabeth Emery was baptised in 1767 in Fareham to Thomas and Mary. This is the only baptism I can find around that time.

The man who I think is her brother James Emmery married in 1791 in Droxford, and the previous entry is of an Elizabeth Emmery marrying Lewis Marsh. Elizabeth Marsh died in 1837 in Droxford giving a birth of 1768

However there is also the Elizabeth Emery who married William Feast in 1792 in Fareham. (A sister Dinah married Thomas Feast in Droxford 1801)
Elizabeth Feast died in 1840 in Fareham giving a birth of 1765.

Can anyone find anything that might help find out which Elizabeth is the daughter of Thomas and Mary?

There is also a baptism in Fareham on 23 May 1768 of Elizabeth Emery d/o John.

The entry on Ancestry is from Familysearch and also says that she died 1 May 1775, but the burial image (on FMP) says only this:

1 May 1775 Elizabeth Emery an infant

A 7-year old child would never be described as an infant, so I don't believe that the 1775 death was the d/o John.

If both women had children then there may be some clues to their parentage by the naming of those children.

As Andromeda has said there is a baptism at Fareham in 1768 for an Elizabeth daughter of John EMERY. However, there is also a baptism at Wickham, Hampshire (much closer to Fareham than Bishop's Waltham) for a James son of John & Mary EMMORY on 17 July 1769, so it certainly looks as if there are two candidates for Elizabeth and her brother James. Are your EMERY family definitely the ones from Bishop's Waltham because if so they are more likely to be the ones who married in Droxford. This query has piqued my interest as I went to Wickham Primary School and lived reasonably near Droxford in the very dim and distant past!! The James EMERY who married in Droxford named his first son James, second son Thomas & third son John which could indicate that his father was indeed Thomas. His eldest daughter was named Mary which doesn't really help does it.

Ah missed that. Both Elizabeths born in Fareham :headbang:

My ancestor was James. I have been trying to find possible siblings and families to find his parents His burial in 1839 gives a birth year of about 1770, these two families seem the best contenders

If his sister was the Elizabeth who married Lewis Marsh, then their parents were Thomas and Mary. Who I had having children in Fareham, then Bishops Waltham, then going to Droxford. Several potential siblings have a son James, but none have a Thomas or John.
Interesting what you say Janet about the geography. A lot of my family lived in Droxford, but a fair few moved there from Fareham.

I'm going to look into the other family with those new baptisms. Thank you

I'm glad I got back in because I got the Elizabeths mixed up and I needed to check.

The new baptism of an Elizabeth in 1768 I think is likely to be the one who was said she was born in 1768 to John and married Mr Marsh

So that makes Elizabeth baptised 1767 the daughter of Thomas, but said to be born 1765, the one who married Mr Feast. I believe she is my relative as I have now found a DNA match descendant of hers. So I how have James's father.

Thank you very much
