My friend Tim has sent me a couple of photos of the reverse of silhouettes to investigate.

Before I disappear down another rabbit hole, please take a look at what is written and see if you come up with the same information that I do.

There is an Ancestry tree, user Drayton1857 which has a picture of Sir Thomas. He was three times married and Mary, his second wife, died in 1824, so a red herring I'm afraid.
 
Interesting read about Sir Thomas Williams, one of his wives was the cousin of Jane Austen. Lady Mary Williams died in 1824 and he took another wife.
 
Unless of course, the 1810 death was her mother, I didnt click that there were two separate items!

Not necessarily, as there are two images. One is noted as Mrs Wapshare, the other Mary Wapshare.
 
Mary's parents were Charles Wapshare and Mary Sandford. they were also married at Salisbury Cathedral and Mary was buried there April 1811 so only a year adrift.

A few days ago, at Salisbury, Sir Thomas Williams, Captain of his Majesty's ship Endymion, to Miss Wapshare, eldest daughter of the late Charles Wapshare, Esq., of that place.

On the 7th inst. Died, at her house in the Close, Mrs Wapshare, relict of the late C. Wm. Wapshare, Esq.
