Age at baptism

I can't quite decide what Ann Cromwell's age was when she was baptised on 29 June 1834 - would like to hear what others think.

Thank you Ann. That's what I thought it said.

Still trying to sort out Keith's Gatters.

John Gatter's wife died and he re-married Ann Cromwell in 1841, then lived in Birmingham with her and his daughter from his first marriage. Census say she was from Beckington, Somerset - and the details of her father on the marriage cert tie up with the father on the baptism I posted.

I keep having doubts as some on Ancestry say John married Ann Wakelin/Wakebin - he may have, in 1836, but I cannot find a death for her.

Keith's Gt. Gt. Grandfather William Gatter and a John Gatter married cousins (who were from Warwickshire). Been trying to sort out if the two Gatters are connected, and if so, how.

Cannot find baptisms for William Gatter or John Gatter (on his marriage cert to Ann, John gives his father as Robert, a carpenter). Both William and John give birth on census as about 1803, Bristol, Somerset.

William married before Civil Registration, so no help there.

Had you noticed that John's daughter Mary Ann was actually baptised in Birmingham Immanuel on 27 October 1867 (born 12 January 1832) her parents being shown as John & Esther GATTER, 10 Williams Street, Carpenter, which would seem to suggest that John was married to an Esther previously. There is a marriage (available to view on Ancestry) on 19 November 1826 at St Botolph Bishopsgate between a John GATTER & an Esther HEALES, both single and of the parish, one of the witnesses being a William GATTER. There is a burial at Finsbury St Luke on 4 May 1834 for an Esther GATER, aged 26, which could also be relevant.

Yes, Thank you @janetbooth.

William Gatter, Keith's GG Grandfather and Martha Lucy Heales were witnesses at the marriage of John Gatter and Esther Heales in 1826. William and Martha Lucy married in 1828. Finding a connection between the two Gatter men is proving difficult.

Yes, I'm having trouble finding a connection too! I thought the connection might be related via their wives but Martha Lucy HEALES looks to have been baptised in Coventry on 30 November 1804, parents Benjamin & Martha, whereas Esther looks to have been baptised in Shoreditch on 7 March 1808 (born 12 December 1807), parents William & Hannah of Hoxton. Although looking further back on a HEALES family tree on Ancestry which seems to have some documentary evidence, it would appear that Benjamin HEALES & William HEALES may have been brothers. The HEALES side of the Tree is well researched but has not managed to find the parents of either William GATTER or John GATTER, so we are not the only ones having difficulty!!

Thanks for trying Janet.

I'm sure I came to the conclusion that Martha Lucy and Esther were cousins - it's a long time since I've done anything on Keith's family - started it then handed it over to him, bought him an Ancestry sub and left him to it. Last Christmas I bought him an Ancestry DNA kit, hoping it may help with the Gatters - he says it hasn't, so now and then I have a look.
