Missing.... 1871 Onwards

Am looking for Charles Lupton, born 1829 in Leeds to parents Charles & Ann Lupton.

I have all his details up until the 1871 Census, where I cannot find him! He married Ruth Mawson in 1858 & she died in 1869, Leeds. Her mother Elisabeth Mawson was present at Ruth's death from phthisis & registered the death. She states that Ruth is the 'wife of Charles Lupton, Mule Spinner'

Where did Charles go?

Nor could I seem to find Silver Royd Hill in 1871.

Silver Royd Hill starts at Stonebridge Lane. It then merges into Wortley Moor Road, but in the meantime coming off Silver Royd Hill, we have Silver Royd Place, Silver Royd Ave, Silver Royd Grove, Silver Royd Street, Silver Royd Road, Silver Royd Drive. That postman surely earns his wage.

Silver Royd Hill starts at Stonebridge Lane. It then merges into Wortley Moor Road, but in the meantime coming off Silver Royd Hill, we have Silver Royd Place, Silve Royd Ave, Silver Royd Grove, Silver Royd Street, Silver Royd Road, Silver Royd Drive. That postman surely earns his wage.

Naming of streets, roads in this manner are quite common in the Leeds/Bradford area The housing there now, generally looks to be from about the 1950's era.

I too have tried everything I can think of, even looking for a death before his wife (just in case), nothing, even using just Charles in case the surname was mangled - he just seems to vanish - sorry not to have been of more help

There is a death registration on the GRO at Leeds reg district in the June qtr 1878 for a Charles LUPTON, aged 40. Looking for an appropriate burial record in Ancestry's Yorkshire burial records brings up a burial record at Beckett Street Cemetery, Leeds on 26 April 1878 for a Charles LUPTON of the Workhouse, aged 41. Perhaps worth further investigation given that this Charles may have been in the Workhouse in the 1871 census?

Thank you @MollyMay & @janetbooth! Will order the 1878 death certificate to see if it is him although the age is out by 10 yrs, but if he was in the workhouse mistakes can happen.

Have also lodged 'an error/missing death' in the General Registry Office online indexes, as there is a Charles Lupton death on Ancestry, Findmypast & Freebmd indexes in 1839 in Leeds, Vol 23 Pg 268, which could well be him but no age is given so am waiting for the GRO to investigate.

The death certificate for this Charles Lupton gives no identifying information, although his occupation is Weaver. He died of Phagedaena (gangrenous & necrotic ulcerations of skin).

This is the result of the GRO investigation for the Charles Lupton death in the 1839 Dec 1/4 Vol 23 Pg 268..... So I take it that there is no death certificate?

This is the GRO index, which they have complied from the copy certificates held by them (ie completely independently from the quarterly indexes transcribed by FreeBMD & reproduced by Ancestry etc)

And just to confuse things even further, her burial on 20 Nov 1839 at Leeds Parish Church (St. Peter) OR St. Marys, Mabgate, says the following:

Charlotte Lupton aged 70 of Little Bridge Street, Widow of Thomas Lupton
