Captain Henry Dennison Crompton Royal Air Force

Thanks! That is def him. So it would appear there was a mix-up between Henry Dennison Crompton and the Canadian John Bourchier Crompton of 60 Squadron. A very strange mistake to make considering John was the only Canadian with name Crompton in the RFC and having completely different initials. Someone was not paying attention. Very much appreciated! Any idea of when he may have died?

This is interesting. Index card from The Royal Aero Club. Card No. 2953 Henry Dennison Crompton born 16 Jul 1889, Bury. Nationality British. 2nd Lieut R.F.C. [S.R.] Certificate taken on Maurice Farman Biplane at the military school Ruislip 24 May 1916. Killed in Action 13 Dec 1916 France. I have downloaded a copy of the card to my files. Wasn't sure if it was o.k. to add it to this conversation. If it is o.k. for me to do so. I will attach a copy here for you.

Ok yes, I have those medals etc. It is just a shame that his 1914-15 Star appears to have been lost. I really just wanted to clear up the question of whether he was Canadian because it was not unheard of for people to immigrate to Canada and then return to the UK. Thanks for all your help.

Hi I think you are confusing my fellow with a Henry Dent Crompton who was indeed Killed in Action in 1916. Two different people. But thanks for adding that !
