Feeling Comfy Already....

Goes out of her way to help
Hi All,

Thanks for the invite to join! It feels like home already and it's lovely to see everyone again! The last couple of months haven't been the same...

I've been researching on and off for the past 20 years in between bringing up a family. Have a couple of 'brickwalls' that need some work!!!

The site looks great and I'm sure it's the happy and friendly place we're all looking for...

Hello Dizzyme,
So glad you have found us. :)
I am sure we will have great fun, tramping the boards once again. C|:-)

Hi Dizzyme C|:-)

Wow, it's so good to see you. You'll love it here, and yes it is the happy friendly place we all hoped to find. I'm pleased you already feel at home.

Catch up with you later,

Take care,

Lizzy x

Great to see you here Dizzyme, It's so nice when old acquaintances drop by :) Welcome to our new home

Hi Dizzyme

What a great name you have chosen, and avatar too.

Eeek, you all know each other so well, I sometimes have the sense of intruding in a secret club. But I decided to just jump on in and say HI! (I'll close the door quietly on my way out)

Christel, as you will have noticed a lot of us have met before and are very excited to be reunited here. I hope you're not put off by all our babble, it is just an indicator of what good friends we are. Do please feel free to join in! We are all mad about genealogy and I'm sure will get back to proper genealogy chat soon.

Looking forward to getting to know you and your ancestors. :)

I'm just a little shy and lost, and feeling like the new kid in the playground.

Oh no, don't be shy, come and play! How I wish someone had said that to me at primary school: I still remember standing on the edge of the playground watching the other children playing and wanting to join in but not knowing how . . . have been 'on the edge' socially ever since! But thanks to the lovely folks here on Top Dog I do feel part of the gang for the first time in my life.

The same here Jane - like you I always felt on the outside as I'm a quiet shy person normally, but thanks to all the lovely friendly people who have welcomed me here (after meeting them on another forum), I too now feel part of a very 'special group' - so I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Dear Huncamunca and Bookworm

Oh dear I didn't wish to conjure up memories of traumatic schooldays (whoever said they were the "best days of our lives"?). I had the same thing when we moved house halfway through my final year at Junior school -- from a safe small environment where I knew who everyone was and who I was, to a place 4x bigger where at best I was someone's "pet" project because I was lost.

Thank you for making me welcome and helping me settle in. Everyone here is so friendly, it's been a pleasure to visit here every day since I joined. And long may it continue!

Christel

Christel,

Come back...

You haven't hijacked my thread. It's nice that you can say how it is... I didn't have much confidence but the people here changed all that. They are such a friendly bunch that they make us all feel like were in 'in club'...
